The Laie Hawaii Temple |
Pictures can't capture the beauty of the grounds of this temple. You really should come here for a visit and see it for yourself. |
This tropical temple is located near the BYU-Hawaii campus. |
I spent my day here at the temple, even though I could have gone surfing at Waikiki Beach. |
Check out those royal palms! |
This yellow hibiscus is the state flower of Hawaii. It is called the "hula girl."
|
One little Tigger sitting in a tree.
Plumerias blooming all around me!
|
Cooling off by the pool! |
Lovely bird of paradise flowers.
How appropriate!
|
Another view of the royal palm walkway. |
It isn't Palm Sunday yet,
but I'm up here just the same.
|
Chilling by the fountain! |
Can't get enough of those sweet sisters! |
Now a trip to the visitors' center. |
Sitting at the Master's feet. |
Just a few of the languages of the Book of Mormon. |
Hawaii flowers are the best! |
There is a special beach near the temple. |
People go there to rest and reflect.
The ocean could be the largest
"reflecting" pool ever!
|
Can you tell I am meditating? |
A trip to Laie is not complete without a visit
to the Polynesian Cultural Center.
|
Can you see me riding the waves? |
It's Tiki Time! |
This is the guy who originated the "shaka."
He was missing a couple of joints of his fingers,
and many people came to imitate his wave,
which is now a standard Hawaii greeting..
|
Yes, I do all my own stunts!
Usually not on purpose.
|
More Tiki Time!
|
Just hanging around! |
I will definitely miss Hawaii, but I am
looking forward to my travels around the country.
Maybe even the world!
|
