Mesa Arizona Temple

When they built this temple in Mesa,
nobody ever thought
there would be need for more
than one temple in Arizona.

It reminds me a bit of the temple in Laie, Hawaii.

A climbed up for a better look.

And here I am reflecting by the reflecting pool.

Each temple has its own unique history.

Good thing I was here in the spring, because I don't know
if I could resist taking a dip if it was too hot.

Just so you know,
sitting on a cactus isn't that comfortable.

What I don't do for a great picture!

This one isn't quite so prickly, but still . . .

This is a piece of petrified wood.

And this rock is covered with petroglyphs.

I missed being able to see the annual Easter pageant,
but I did get to see the scenery.

Too bad I had to leave a couple
 of days before the pageant.

I hear it is awesome!

This is a depiction of the Garden Tomb.
My owners may be taking me to the real
one in Jerusalem later this year.
Stay tuned.

I plan to come back someday and see the Easter pageant.

Gila Valley Arizona Temple

Here I am with another little friend,
visiting the Gila Valley Arizona Temple.

It was a lovely sunny day and not nearly as
 hot as I hear it gets in Arizona.
If I was Angel Moroni, I would take the summer off.

And here I am, riding the rails!

Temple gardens are always so beautiful!

I blend right in, don't I?

I climbed up a tree to get a better
look at the stained glass windows.

Anchorage Alaska Temple

This is going to be a quick trip. As you know,
my travels originated in Hawaii,
so I can only take so much of this cold weather.
Nevertheless, here I am in Anchorage, Alaska.
How cool is that? Brrrrrr! That's how cool.

Can you see me, hunkered down in the corner
there by the wall, trying to stay warm?
I should have brought the scarf and hat that nice
lady in Nebraska knit for me.

Winter Quarters Nebraska Temple

Here I am at the Winter Quarters Nebraska Temple.

I usually like to pose with
the temple flowers,
but here all we've got
is some poor
little bushes and naked trees
 shivering in the cold.



It must have been cold for
the pioneers when they stayed here.

This is the only temple I know of
that has a cemetery nearby,
to remind us of those brave pioneers
who didn't make it through the winter.

There were many pioneers buried along the way. I'm grateful for the
nice lady who knitted me a warm hat and scarf for this visit.

This is a statue of a mom and dad
burying their child.
I can't think of anything more
heartbreaking than that.



Inside the visitors center there were lots of things to see.
And it was warm inside, too!

This depicts what life would have been like in the camps.

Pioneer bunk beds.

There were lots of artifacts from the pioneer days.

This is what one of the log cabins looked like.

Can you imagine trying to carry all of your belongings
in a wagon this size? Most kids today
could not even get all their toys into this wagon.

Did you know that they measured how many miles they had gone
by how many times the wheel went all the way around?

There was a model of the Salt Lake Temple.

And there was a model of the Nauvoo Temple, too.
I've been to both of those.

This was one of my favorite temples so far!

Newport Beach California Temple

I am back once again in sunny California, 

this time visiting the Newport Beach Temple.

I love the mission-style design of this temple.

I only have three more California temples to visit.

Do any of you know someone who lives near the 

Redlands or Fresno or San Diego temples?

Because I would really love to visit them soon.

Raleigh North Carolina Temple

Here I am at the stately Raleigh North Carolina Temple.

It was quite a feat getting all the way up here for this photo.

As usual, I am on the outside, 

but if you read of all my temple travels, 

you will discover that I did go inside one of the temples.

I am hanging on for dear life.

I wonder if Angel Moroni is afraid of heights like I am.
